Clinical Background

Adriana DiGrande, M.S., CCC-SLP, BRS-FD

An ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Adriana has been practicing since 1975 and has worked exclusively with people who stutter since 1982.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology from the State University of New York at New Paltz and her Master of Science in Speech Pathology from the College of St. Rose in Albany New York . She received from the College of St. Rose in 2002 their Alumna of Excellence Award for her accomplishments and contribution to the profession.

Ms. DiGrande received her early specialized training in the area of stuttering at the Hollins Communication Research Institute in 1975 and had additional training from them in 1980 and 1990. She is a 1988 graduate of the Northwestern University and Stuttering Foundation of America's Stuttering Therapy: Workshop for Specialists.

From 1982 -1997 Ms. DiGrande was the coordinator of Fluency Services at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn, MA, where she provided individual and intensive group fluency therapy for children and adults. She has been a clinical practicum supervisor and the co-coordinator of the Joseph Germono Fluency Clinic at Boston University since 1994. And she has been in private practice in Lexington, MA, since 1997.

Ms. DiGrande has presented at numerous regional, national and international conferences and provides clinical training to graduate clinicians in the Boston area. She is a member of ASHA, a founding member of its Division of Fluency Disorders, and is among the inaugural group of ASHA Board Recognized Fluency Specialists. She is a member of the Massachusetts Speech Language Hearing Association and an active supporter of the Stuttering Foundation, National Stuttering Association , and Friends.
